And that alliance is what Rudd and the broader Australian government are trying to maintain. Because ties between the U.S. and Australia are incredibly strong, but Trump’s plans have the potential to shake up the economic stability that Australia depends on, given the fact that China is its largest trading partner. Trump’s plan to impose tariffs on Chinese imports in the U.S.
