Oficiales del fútbol de Australia en Indonesia plantearon la idea de unirse para presentar una candidatura que rivalizará con Arabia Saudí para recibir la Copa Mundial masculina 2034.
El periódico Sydney Morning Herald reportó el miércoles los comentarios del presidente de la Federación de Fútbol de Indonesia Eric Thohir sobre las conversaciones para incluir a Malasia y Singapur en la posible candidatura.
La fecha límite para presentar la candidatura es el 30 de noviembre. Sólo integrantes de los organismos de países de Asia y Oceanía pueden aplicar para recibir esa edición, debido a que Estados Unidos, Canadá y México recibirán el torneo 2026 y seis miembros FIFA de Europa, África y Sudamérica se unieron para la edición 2030.
