William Augustus Bryant pled guilty to the charges, which stemmed from a Texas Department of Public Safety investigation. DPS officers discovered fentanyl in Bryant's vehicle during a traffic stop on July 15, 2023. A subsequent search of Bryant's residence yielded various narcotics, including cocaine, methamphetamine, fentanyl, mushrooms, and marijuana. Authorities also seized seven firearms and two stolen motorcycles.During sentencing, prosecutors presented evidence of Bryant's involvement in an aggravated kidnapping that occurred shortly after the search.
District Attorney Shawn Dick said Bryant’s criminal activities posed a serious threat to public safety. “Bryant’s guilty plea and lengthy sentence are a significant victory for our community and a testament to the hard work and dedication of our prosecutors and law enforcement partners,” Dick said. “Today’s sentence sends a clear message that drug trafficking will not be tolerated in Williamson County.”
