"We want to normalize reuse for back to school. We have a lot of the basics at 20% to 40% of retail prices. Parents from all different kinds of communities can benefit from here," said Austin Creative Reuse'sMany items are brand new but sold at significantly lower prices.found that one in three parents cannot afford their student's supply list.The nonprofit aims to teach kids about reuse and help parents contribute to a sustainable future.
"Teachers love us because we care and want to help them as much as we can," said Marin. "We generally tend to have it all and really want to support the teachers who do so much for our community and students."Back-to-School Sale: From August 10-18th, you can fill an H-E-B bag with supplies for just $7 or a gently used backpack for $12.
Pay-What-You-Can Educator Extravaganza: Next weekend, August 17th and 18th, from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m., teachers can get supplies to furnish their classrooms.A special feature at Austin Creative Reuse is a bat sculpture named Miss Bat Reuse, made from plastics collected from the lake. This collaboration with Bat Conservation International and Austin Youth River Watch celebrates Austin's large bat population.
