Austin Butler's Golden Globes speech paid tribute to the Presley family
Austin Butler’s Golden Globes tribute to Elvis Presley’s daughter Lisa Marie Presley and former wife Priscilla Presley has gone viral, following Lisa Marie’s sad death just days afterwards.
As the two women looked on in the audience, they both looked emotional, while Lisa Marie looked close to tears as Austin thanked them.“Thank you, guys. Thank you for opening your hearts, your memories, and your home to me. Lisa Marie, Priscilla, I love you forever.”Speaking at a pre-ceremony event, she said she had been “overwhelmed” by the film and the effect that it had.
The singer-songwriter had been “rushed” for medical treatment on Thursday but sadly passed away in hospital later that day, her family confirmed. Her death was further confirmed in a family statement, which read: “Priscilla Presley and the Presley family are shocked and devastated by the tragic death of their beloved Lisa Marie.
