The renowned actor was announced as the global ambassador for the brand’s new fragrance ‘MYSLF’
Courtesy of YSL Beautyis now the head of YSL Beauty’s newest fragrance, ‘MYSLF.’ Butler embodies many of the same qualities that ‘MYSLF’ exhibits—sensitive, authentic, confident, approachable, complex—all culminating as YSL Beauty’s statement of modern masculinity.
“I was honored to be asked to join the YSL Beauty family,” shares Austin Butler in a statement. “Over the last few years, I’ve spoken with people who knew M. Saint Laurent. He broke through labels. He was a rebel, and I love that about him. I feel privileged to be a part of the heritage he set in motion.”As YSL Beauty’s first woody floral scent, ‘MYSLF’ is a true statement piece for the brand.
The campaign includes still shots by New York-based photographer Gray Sorrenti, as well as a soon-to-be-released film, shot by Palme d’Or-winning director Julia Ducournau. The film depicts Butler manifesting all the selves that make him himself through striking and bold visuals.“In seeking out a figure to embody YSL Beauty’s vision of the new masculinity, there could have been no better choice for us than Austin Butler,” said International General Manager of YSL Beauty Stephan Bezy.
