An Aurora man convicted of killing a mother and 6-year-old daughter while driving drunk in 2022 was sentenced Wednesday to 52 years in the Colorado Department of Corrections, according to court records.
He received concurrent sentences of 32 years behind bars for child abuse resulting in death, 12 years for vehicular homicide and 6 years for vehicular assault. A consecutive sentence of 20 years for child abuse resulting in serious bodily injury brings his sentence to 52 years. Mira Watson, 6, and her mother Maggie Schultz Watson, 41, were pronounced dead at a hospital, according to the Arapahoe County Coroner. The father and 10-year-old boy were injured in the crash, but survived.
