The Audi Group has reported another disappointing quarter, but there's reason to be optimistic about the future
The Audi Group experienced a dismal third quarter as well as a rough start to the year. The automaker blamed the disastrous result on restructuring expenses at their Brussels plant. Through the first nine months of the year, sales at Audi and Bentley are down. Volkswagen’s troubles are well known, but the Audi Group is also suffering from a challenging market, competitive conditions, and limited parts availability.
Given that drop, it’s not surprising that revenue fell from €50.4 billion to €46.3 billion. Their operating profit took an even larger hit, falling from €4.6 billion to €2.09 billion.
