Auburn had a 17-point lead and all the momentum in Saturday's game against LSU. But it all went out the window in one disastrous stretch. brianjstultz has more on the Tigers loss:
| Auburn had all the momentum in front of a home crowd that was clamoring to grow louder and louder. Up 17-0 with 6:45 left in the second quarter, everything was going the home Tigers' way.
Rolling to his right, Ashford got stripped by BJ Ojulari before getting the pass off, and the ball was scooped up and returned for a touchdown by Jay Ward. A 17-point lead was now 10, but Auburn's offense responded with a nine-drive play to LSU's 23-yard line. Anders Carlson, struggling on field goal attempts all season, missed one from 40 yards. A wasted opportunity by the Tigers to put more distance between them and the Bayou Bengals.
Everything seemed familiar as Auburn went to the locker room at halftime. The Tigers had played its best 23 minutes of the season, but it was for naught as the lead was now just three points. Almost everyone in the stadium had to be thinking the same thing: here we go again. The Tigers are getting out-coached and out-executed in every single aspect of the game and, despite another good effort by the defense, walk away a loser in a winnable game. Adjustments are just a word thrown around by Bryan Harsin and his staff.
