World number one Novak Djokovic has withdrawn from the French Open after suffering a knee injury during his fourth round win. Djokovic, who was due to play Casper Ruud in the quarterfinals, blamed the “slippery” surface at Roland Garros for the injury.
JUSTIN LEE Former Tennessee assistants Chris and Kate Malveaux are coming to Auburn to become co-head coaches of the Auburn softball team, Auburn athletics announced Wednesday.The Malveauxs replace former head coach Mickey Dean, who stepped down from his post at the end of this past season.
Chris Malveaux was on staff at Tennessee for each of the past three seasons, and prior to that served as an assistant coach at Missouri. Kate Malveaux was with Tennessee in 2022 and 2023 as a volunteer assistant and was promoted to full-time assistant before the 2024 season. “In meeting with Chris and Kate, it was obvious that their synergy was an indomitable force,” Auburn athletics director John Cohen said. “Their contributions to Tennessee’s success over the past three seasons are undeniable. We’re so excited to welcome Chris, Kate and their family to Auburn.”Dean coached Auburn for seven seasons, coaching Auburn’s best pitching staffs in program history though his teams were inconsistent at the plate.
