Jacob Madisha is on a mission to uplift his community through the projects at Jacob Madisha Ponelopele Community Development, the organisation he founded in Atteridgeville in 2017.

In 2018, while visiting schools, he realised that many children were tired and often not concentrating in class, Madisha said. According to him, this is because many children in the area come from underprivileged homes. "My team and I share the same background. We relate and know the limitations of growing up with few opportunities."We started the breakfast project because we were motivated by how we grew up. We walked long distances to school, often on an empty stomach. However, we are where we are because the challenges we faced as children kept us motivated," he said.
The rest of the Ponelopele team is Katlego Thobejane, Mogapi Lefifi, Junior Masheba, Tebogo Thobejane, Shaun Molefe, Mpho Shirindi and Tshepiso Maleka, who are from Atteridgeville. The organisation also has daily volunteers. When the team members are not providing breakfast to pupils every morning, they are out on different projects.
