Oakland police are seeking a man in the attempted rape of a woman in the Melrose district

OAKLAND — A man was being sought in the attempted rape of a woman Jan. 19 at a business in the Melrose district, police said.

Oakland police are asking the public for help finding this man, a suspect in an attempted rape on Jan. 19. Courtesy Oakland Police Dept. Authorities released a video surveillance image of the man and have also offered reward money in an effort to identify him. The woman was attacked about 9:30 a.m. Jan. 19 in a business in the 4700 block of International Boulevard. Police said the man entered the business, began grabbing the woman and pulled her pants down.The man fled before police arrived. He was last seen going westbound on International Boulevard toward High Street.
