After finishing fifth for Americans in the Chicago Marathon, Matt McDonald has big goals for today, he's currently in the top five.

The distance wasn’t unfamiliar territory, which made a huge difference mentally and physically.

“Since I was able to do that workout on a hilly route on a humid day, I felt pretty confident that I could hold that pace in Chicago,” McDonald said.McDonald said that one of the biggest things he’s learned as a marathoner is the importance of training for the distance and surface you’ll be running on.
