LONDON: British distance great Mo Farah has insisted he still intends to compete at the Tokyo Olympics even though they have been delayed a year by the coronavirus.

But the four-time Olympic gold medallist backed the postponement and was adamant it would not affect his ability to compete. Farah, who won Olympics gold in the 5,000 and 10,000 metres at both the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Games, added a delay was preferable to trying to fit in an Olympics without sufficient training time and warm-up races."In a way we could have been in a far worse situation, there are no races leading up to it, athletes can't test themselves," he said.

"At the moment, nobody is thinking about that. I am still running every day, just trying to get through this crisis time.
