The two displays get much closer now for a tidier setup. Plus, it’s got a big-ass battery.
The Asus Zenbook Duo is getting a chip upgrade, an overhauled hinge design, and a big battery upgrade for CES 2026. The new dual-screen laptop will get Intel Panther Lake when it launches later in Q1 2026, though its pricing isn’t finalized.
But the most noticeable change is to its finish and its hinge. The Duo now uses Asus’ Ceraluminum finish for a textured feel, and its hinge creates a much more seamless dual-screen experience with less of a gap between the two 14-inch 2880 x 1800 / 144Hz OLED displays. The new Zenbook Duo also has a slightly smaller footprint compared to the last-gen version, but with a much larger 99Wh battery over the previous gen’s 75Wh. The pogo pins for attaching its keyboard and trackpad deck over the lower display are now magnetic, so they hide away into the chassis as you yank off the keyboard and slowly emerge as you attach it. The new Duo may seem not all too different from the last-gen version when viewed in a vacuum, but sitting side by side with the last-gen model shows the hinge difference to be night and day. I’ll be looking forward to testing this one in addition to its new gaming counterpart, the 2026 Zephyrus Duo.
