Asus has introduced a new laptop model, the Zenbook A14, which boasts a lightweight design and impressive specs. The lightest variant weighs just 2.18 pounds, making it significantly lighter than the MacBook Air. The laptop features a 14-inch OLED display, a ceramic aluminum body, and a choice of Snapdragon X and X Plus processors.

Asus has announced a new lineup of laptops with upgrades to current-gen Vivobook and Zenbook models, including a processor bump. The Asus Zenbook A14 comes in two variants, with the lightest model weighing just 2.18 pounds (990 grams), over 0.50 pounds (230 grams) lighter than the 13-inch MacBook Air. Despite its lightness, the new Asus laptop packs a range of impressive features.

The Asus Zenbook A14 features a 14-inch OLED display with a 1920 x 1200-pixel resolution, a 60Hz refresh rate, and support for 100% DCI-P3 color gamut. The laptop is made of ceramic aluminum material—a blend of ceramic and aluminum designed to make the backplate tougher and lighter while offering a unique texture. I first experienced it on the Zenbook S14 last year and was impressed by its scratch-resistant and smudge-free qualities, so I'm glad Asus is extending it to more devices. Under the hood of the new Copilot+ PC, you’ll see a new Snapdragon X series processors. The slightly heavier 2.4-pound (1090 grams) model comes equipped with a Snapdragon X Plus chipset and a lower price, whereas the 2.18-pound (990 grams) model is lighter, pricier and has a new Snapdragon X processor. These laptops might not be as powerful as the M3 MacBook Air but we’ll only be able to tell that after I get my hands on one of these for review. The Snapdragon X variant is paired with 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of PCIe 4.0 SSD storage, while the X Plus version offers 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of PCIe 4.0 storage. However, outside the USA, the Zenbook A14 can get a Snapdragon X Elite variant. In terms of connectivity, both models have a more extensive I/O setup than the MacBook Air, including 1x USB 3.2 Gen 2, 2x USB 4.0 (with power delivery), 1x HDMI 2.1, and 1x 3.5mm audio jac
