Brown threw three scoreless frames and struck out four. The 23-year-old righthander will likely start his season with Class AAA Sugar Land. Provided he pitches well, Brown is a serious candidate to make his major league debut in 2022.
Along with Brown, Houston reassigned righthander Jon Olczak and optioned Forrest Whitley. Whitley is rehabbing from Tommy John surgery and said earlier this spring he hopes to return to games by late May or early June.
