Arguably no one in the Astros' clubhouse had experienced postseason heartbreak like Michael Brantley, so few could appreciate this World Series championship more.Perhaps more than anyone in the Astros’ clubhouse after Saturday’s World Series-clinching win, Michael Brantley could appreciate the moment.He missed Cleveland’s run to the Fall Classic in 2016 with an injury and had to watch his teammates blow a 3-1 lead and lose in seven games to the Cubs.

And while the 35-year-old Brantley couldn’t contribute on the field after having season-ending shoulder surgery in July, the veteran outfielder and clubhouse elder statesman was a constant presence during the playoffs. “It’s phenomenal,” said Brantley, who'll be a free agent this offseason. “This is what you work so hard for. I’ve been here a few times and it didn’t work out. To celebrate with this team and organization, a phenomenal coaching staff and the love the city has for us and supported us all year, they deserve it. What a special feeling it is tonight.
