MINNEAPOLIS — Astros right fielder Kyle Tucker was ejected from Sunday's series finale against the Minnesota Twins for arguing a baserunner interference call in the eighth inning.

Batting with the bases loaded and no outs, Tucker hit a ground ball to second baseman Nick Gordon, who fired home for a forceout. Catcher Ryan Jeffers' throw to first base struck Tucker in the elbow as he ran into the first-base bag. Home-plate umpire Mark Carlson immediately called Tucker out, incensing Houston's dugout.

Major league rules state a baserunner must"stay within the three-foot runner's lane to the right of the foul line unless they are avoiding a player fielding a batted ball." Replays showed Tucker outside the runner's lane, but running outside of it may have caused Tucker to miss the base entirely. The play is not reviewable.

Manager Dusty Baker argued for a moment with Carlson as Tucker returned to the Astros' dugout. When he did, Tucker shouted something in his direction. Carlson ejected him immediately, infuriating Tucker — one of the calmest players in Houston's clubhouse.
