Astros' Kyle Tucker added to American League All-Star roster as injury replacement
Kyle Tucker will give the Astros three All-Star selections after being named to the American League roster to replace the injured Mike Trout.Astros right fielder Kyle Tucker was named to the American League All-Star Game roster as an injury replacement for Angels outfielder Mike Trout, Major League Baseball announced Tuesday night.
It marks the second consecutive All-Star Game nod for Tucker, who was a first-time selection in 2022.as 2023 All-Stars, though Alvarez is recovering from an oblique injury and will not play in the showcase. Tucker has played in 84 of Houston’s 86 games this season and leads all healthy Astros players in OPS . Through 307 at-bats, he is batting .293 and slugging .482 with 14 stolen bases. Tucker’s 55 RBI are tied with Alvarez for a team best, and his 13 home runs trail only Alvarez.
Trout suffered a broken left wrist when he fouled off a pitch during Monday’s game against the Padres.
