Astros manager Dusty Baker said his second baseman is"doing a lot better," and Altuve took part in pregame activities with his teammates on the field. Baker said he was unsure if Altuve would be back in the lineup Tuesday night, but mainly due to his tendency to being overly cautious with his players.
"If a guy’s ailing I like to give him an extra day just to make sure, so we’ll see tomorrow," Baker said.breaking his thumb in the World Baseball ClassicMauricio Dubón has started every game at second base during Altuve’s most recent absence and is hitting .295 with a .703 OPS.
