Injured Astros closer Ryan Pressly will pitch a rehab outing for Class AAA Sugar Land Space Cowboys on Tuesday at Constellation Field.
Pressly has been on the injured list since April 14 with right knee inflammation and was eligible to be reactivated during the first leg of the Astros’ road trip in Arlington last week. But his progress stalled, with manager Dusty Baker saying April 27 that Pressly “hasn’t had a step forward.” Pressly is scheduled to pitch one inning for the Space Cowboys on Tuesday, which would appear to indicate a step forward for Houston’s top relief arm. Baker said the Astros will then determine whether Pressly requires a second rehab outing.
