Pitcher Shawn Dubin, shown in spring training, is back with the Astros after being called up from Sugar Land.and optioned starter Brandon Bielak to Sugar Land before Sunday’s series finale against the Reds.
Dubin said he’s joining Houston in a relief role. He has started five of nine outings for the Space Cowboys this season, posting a 7.96 ERA over 26 innings. Bielak has a 4.37 ERA in nine appearances for the Astros this season, eight of them starts. He started Saturday against the Reds and worked 4 2/3 innings, allowing five runs .
