Astros' Alex Bregman intrigued by free agency, says 'We'll see what happens'
that bought out all three of his arbitration seasons and two of his free-agent years.
Bregman turns 29 next month. If he allows this contract to expire, he would hit free agency after the 2024 season at 30 years old. Given the astounding number of decades-long deals given out this winter — and the Astros’ longtime aversion to them — it stands to reason Bregman would benefit more from exploring the open market.“We’ll see what happens,” Bregman said. “We’re listening to everything.
