Astros righthander Hunter Brown pitched six innings while yielding two earned runs, five hits, no walks and striking out nine. He threw 62 of his 97 pitches for strikes. Neither team put anyone on base again until the top of the fourth. Brown surrendered a leadoff double and an RBI single, allowing Oakland to halve Houston’s lead before he retired the next three batters in order.
