Aston Martin reveals the “area of focus” for their Formula 1 upgrades was to close the dominant DRS gap Red Bull has.It has been no secret that Red Bull has been a rocket ship on the straights. This has been due to a good engine and a great DRS mechanism, allowing their drivers to breeze past others with the use of DRS.

The update to the car allowed Alonso to get the better side of Hamilton to finish second after losing out heavily to the Mercedes cars in Barcelona. “It’s all tied to helping the efficiency under the DRS switch so we’re making further steps on that all the time and this is a little step on that.” However, Aston Martin boss Mike Krack feels the team has gathered a lot of evidence to suggest that the car performs better in high-speed corners.
