The University of Oxford is a world-class research environment which has made a substantial commitment to biomedical research. The Ludwig Cancer Institute is part of the Nuffield Department of Medicine situated within the Old Road Campus in Headington Oxford, and forms the focus of cancer research throughout the University.
The Ludwig Institute is an international organisation that supports 3 core-funded branches as well as individual investigators throughout the world. Its aim is to advance our basic knowledge of cancer and apply this towards improvement in cancer care. The Oxford branch has particular expertise in epigenetics and the development of novel technologies to study this problem.
Our research is well-supported through a core funding mechanism, which provides support for PI salary, Ph.D. students, postdoctoral fellows and consumables. We have access to state of the art core facilities including high resolution microscopy, cryoEM, ultra-sensitive mass spectrometry and CRISPR screening.
Candidates should hold a relevant PhD level qualification and are expected to develop independent research programs. Evidence of productivity in publications and collaboration is a key criteria.
