Midfielder Asprilla to miss last watfordfc game of the season
Colombia are in Group C along with Senegal, Japan and Israel, while Brazil are in Group D where they will face Italy, Nigeria and Dominican Republic. England’s Under-20s are in Group E with Uruguay, Iraq and Tunisia.Asprilla, 19, moved to England in the summer from Colombia and has been involved in the first team for most of the campaign.
With 14 starts and a further 23 outings from the bench this season, he is one of the top outfield appearance makers of the Championship campaign. Only Ken Sema and Ismaila Sarr have made more appearances than Asprilla’s 37, but when Asprilla’s outings in both the Carabao Cup and FA Cup are added in, his 39 appearances in all competitions put him second behind Sema on 40.
Asprilla’s 23 league appearances as a substitute is comfortably the highest among the Watford squad this season, with Vakoun Bayo’s 15 the next in the list. Indeed, Asprilla’s 23 league appearances from the bench is the highest figure recorded by a Watford player since Al Bangura made 24 in the 2005/06 season.
