“Being able to write has been very healing. I have one song that I am very excited about called ‘Majestic.’ It’s my story of not loving myself, finding confidence and telling myself that I am everything I need to be,' Soza said.
The 26-year-old son of ultra-conservative ministers was taught growing up that the LGBTQ+ lifestyle would send you to hell, so Soza did his best to hide his sexual orientation until he was outed before his entire high school.
“My brother and I are both gay, so we came out to our parents together. They didn’t take it well. There was a lot of drama because of their strong personal beliefs about the LGBTQ lifestyle, and their worry about what the church might think -- but I just had to decide whether I was going to live my life hiding or if I was going to live my truth.”“Music is my entire life, as cliché as that may sound. Growing up, music became my own little world I could escape to.
“It always kind of hurt me that the same place I found my love for music, was also the place that I felt hurt for being queer. But finding that love for music allowed me to find my voice,” he said. “I was struggling with who I was. That’s when I found K-Pop.”“This music opened up a whole new world for me – a genre that I had never heard and all these confident people that I had never seen before.
