'I'm tired of being plowed over': One pedestrian's plea for sidewalk etiquette: Ask Yadi has the answer
Published: Nov. 05, 2024, 11:30 a.m.If you’re walking in a group on the sidewalk and taking up the entire width of space, why do people not move over or go single file for passersby? Pedestrians don’t make room for passersby’s even if they see a couple together.
I’m constantly stepping into the street to avoid being mowed down. This isn’t safe for me or the drivers. If it is obvious that everyone doesn’t fit, either stop and step aside or walk in a single file line until you get past the crowd. And if you are on a scooter or bike, don’t weave in and out of the pedestrians, that is not safe for anyone. But be sure to step aside and make room for someone in a wheelchair or a cane struggling to get by.
