Stocks in Asia were set to trade mixed on Tuesday as investors await the release of minutes from the Reserve Bank of Australia's July meeting. The People's Bank of China is also set to publish its new loan prime rates under a new mechanism.
Futures pointed to a higher open for Japanese shares. The Nikkei futures contract in Chicago was at 20,645, while its counterpart in Osaka was at 20,650. TheShares in Australia, on the other hand, were set to slip at the open. The SPI futures contract was at 6,440.0, as compared to the S&P/ASX 200's last close at 6,467.40.
Investors will await the release of the Reserve Bank of Australia's July meeting minutes for more clues on where the central bank could move next on interest rates.
