Authorities identified the man as 45-year-old Roger Dale Whisman.
Authorities found the human remains of an Ashville man in Canoe Creek south of Rainbow City Saturday, one day after he was reported missing.Whisman, 45. was reported missing to the Rainbow City Police Department at around 3:50 p.m. on Friday. According to the agency’s Facebook page, Whisman had last been seen in the area of Rainbow Drive and Riddles Bend Road near the St. Clair County line.
Multiple agencies resumed their search Saturday morning. At 12:49 p.m., the agencies assisting in the search notified Rainbow City police that human remains had been located down the river from the initial search location. The agency says the circumstances of Whisman’s death are under investigation. His body was transported to the Alabama Department of Forensic Science in Huntsville for an autopsy.
