A man wanted for sexually abusing multiple children by the Ashtabula County Sheriff’s Office was arrested Friday afternoon in Louisiana after nearly eight years on the run.

GLENMORA, La. - A man wanted for sexually abusing multiple children by the Ashtabula County Sheriff’s Office was arrested Friday afternoon in Louisiana after nearly eight years on the run. 40-year-old Daniel Bohatch, was wanted for six counts of rape, three counts of gross sexual imposition and one count of sexual battery, and the warrants were issued on Oct.

11, 2018.According to a release by the U.S. Marshals, he allegedly victimized multiple children between the ages of 10 and 13 and between November 2010 and November 2013.Investigators of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force worked several leads and followed through on tips that lead them to believe he fled Ohio under an assumed alias. Last week, he was involved in a domestic violence incident in Rapides Parish, La. where he provided a fake name to authorities. Deputies in Louisiana reached out to the NOVFTF after the incident and believed that the man they encountered was potential wanted fugitive Daniel Bohatch. Deputy U.S. Marshals and the newly created Specialized Personnel for Enforcement, Apprehension & Recovery , which specializes in cold case, sex offender and missing children investigations, confirmed through investigative techniques that Bohatch had been using a fictitious name and living with a female associate in Louisiana. He was arrested Friday afternoon at an address in the 50 block of Sonny Boy Doyle Road, in Glenmora, La. Ashtabula County Sheriff William R. Niemi stated, “This has been an ongoing case for almost 8 years, and we appreciate the efforts from the US Marshals Service and Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office, and everyone involved in the identification and apprehension of Daniel Bohatch.” Illegal skimming devices removed from Cleveland businesses as part of Secret Service outreach operationMan found dead inside trash compactor at Shaker Heights CVS
