The victory vaults the Patriots into the PIAA 2A tournament
Ashley Doyle scored a hat trick and goalkeeper Josie Ickes posted a shutout in the cage as the Red Land field hockey qualified for the PIAA 2A tournament with a 4-0 victory over York Suburban.
Fifteenth-seeded Red Land will travel to eighth-seeded Hershey Saturday for a fifth-place PIAA seeding game 2A seeding game. The top six teams in District 3, Class 2A qualify for the PIAA 2A tournament. Ickes stopped three York Suburban shots to gain the clean sheet in the cage. Emma Harris also scored a goal for Red Land.
