BEIJING: A video-teleconferencing session by countries from the Asean Plus Three Cooperation (APT) on Covid-19 agreed to set up a special fund for Asean to fight the pandemic.
However, the amount was not decided upon during the special meeting on Tuesday between South-East Asian nations, China, South Korea and Japan.
Speaking to a press conference here, he also revealed that all parties had agreed to set up a centre for reserve medical supply. "The virus knows no border. Strengthening our cooperation is the only option to win the battle against Covid-19," he added. "We are working to minimise the impact, maintain the flow of commerce and revive the economy," he added.Chinese Premier Li Keqiang, who represented China, said all participating countries must act with greater synergy and work together in closer coordination for a collective response to the pandemic.
