As summer kicks off, the heat settles in

DENVER — The heat is on! Temperatures will soar into back to 90s to wrap up the first weekend of the summer season.Temperatures will be even hotter and drier statewide today. Expect highs in the mid to upper 90s across eastern Colorado.

Typically in late-June, highs are in the mid to upper 80s in Denver. Above average temperatures are ahead for all of next week. The sizzling summer heat continues to start the week. A Heat Advisory is in effect for Monday and Tuesday with highs reaching 95-100 degrees...and overnight lows near 70. A few gusty, late-day storms and showers will be possible Monday. Clouds, wind and a little rain could offer some relief from scorching afternoon temperatures.

Highs will be in the upper 90s again Tuesday, with a slight cool down toward the end of the week, with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s. Stay cool and hydrated!Click here to watch the Denver7 live weather stream.
