Abrams, 54, ascended to assistant general manager under Ernie Accorsi in 2002. Abrams also held that job under GMs Jerry Reese and Dave Gettleman. In his most recent role, Abrams was “responsible for strategic planning related to football operations, data and innovation, managing the salary cap, negotiating player contracts compliance with the NFL’s collective bargaining agreement,” according to his Giants bio. Abrams also worked “closely with the college scouting and pro personnel departments,” though the arrival of Schoen and Brown resulted in a clear demotion for him from the assistant GM job.DraftKings’ oddsmaker Johnny Avello reveals what Harbaugh hire means to Giants’ futures oddsDarryl Slater is an NFL reporter — writing about the Giants, Jets, and more — at NJ Advance Media .
