From the economy, to immigration and healthcare, here are the issues on the minds of voters — and how some expect Donald Trump and Kamala Harris' first in-person debate to unfold.
United States vice-president Kamala Harris and former president Donald Trump will face off for the first — and perhaps only — time, in a debate that could prove crucial in their race for the White House. A recent US-wide poll, conducted by the New York Times and Siena College, indicates that Tuesday's presidential debate could be an important moment.
Its latest national survey was conducted among 9,720 adults — including 8,044 registered voters — from 26 August to 2 September. The survey found that while some issues have long been pressing, others have become increasingly important since the 2020 presidential election. Most respondents cited several issues as being important to their vote.
