Some teachers who are used to teaching online say they’re hopeful this national experiment in online education will encourage schools to use more digital tools and figure out which students lack access to technology.

"It's been easy to resolve but it's definitely a burden," Keck said."You have to adjust your life to be able to facilitate your child's learning when that's not what you're used to doing." With her students, it's even harder, she said."Without a high level of consistency and structured routines, they just are lost."
