Tennis star Aryna Sabalenka opened up about the death of her ex-boyfriend Konstantin Koltsov for the first time since he died at age 42 in March

Tennis star Aryna Sabalenka is opening up for the first time about the death of her ex-boyfriend, hockey player Konstantin Koltsov, and how it affected her mental health.

Koltsov died at age 42 of an apparent suicide in March. At the time, the Miami-Dade P.D. told Us Weekly that they responded to a call at the St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort and that no foul play was suspected. In fact, Sabalenka considers her shoulder injury to be a positive thing as it forced her to take a break from tennis. “I realized it only after I was injured and had to step back that actually it was something much needed,” she told the outlet. “It was really sad and I was struggling a lot not to play Wimbledon, of course, but at the same time I was able to take all the benefits from the time.
