Leeds Light Night event starts on Thursday and includes illuminated sculptures from other countries.
An illuminated artwork created by students in Romania will be installed in Leeds as part of the city's Light Night celebrations.Artist Daniel Popescu from the university said students were "very grateful for the opportunity" to exhibit their work in Leeds.Timisoara in Romania is one of three European Capitals of Culture for 2023, along with Veszprém in Hungary and Elefsina in Greece.
"They were very confident about their project, and they feel very grateful for the opportunity to exhibit in Leeds as a reward for their ideas, ambition, and hard work."Sculptures from Australia, France, The Netherlands and Poland will also be part of the festival at locations across Leeds. Light Night Leeds is now in its 19th year and councillor Jonathan Pryor said it was "always one of the most anticipated occasions in our city's events calendar".
"It also exemplifies the very best of culture in Leeds, celebrating the power of the arts to engage and inspire while reinventing some of the city's most celebrated and best-loved locations."
