Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs arrived in Cape Town on Sunday after defeating Richards Bay the day before and with a short turn around time ahead of Tuesday's highly-anticipated match against Cape Town City.
Amid the congested fixture schedule, Amakhosi head coach Arthur Zwane has hinted that he could make changes to his squad for the encounter, with Chiefs set to be in action again this weekend in the MTN quarter-finals against Stellenbosch FC."With travel between Durban and Cape Town and only one day to prepare, we will have devised a plan and see how we set up," Zwane said, per the club's website.
"It's not an easy game because City have done well and want that first win, and for any team, there’s no bigger occasion than to get it against Chiefs. We are aware of this and will do our best to make sure we put a smile on our supporters’ faces." One player who will certainly miss out is midfielder Yusuf Maart who picked up a red card in the win over Richards Bay, while forward Ashley Du Preez also remains sidelined while recovering from injury.
Zwane's charges currently occupy eighth position in the league standings with six points from their four matches, while Cape Town City are bottom of the log after failing to win in any of their opening five fixtures of the season.
