Get ready to immerse yourself in the captivating world of bonsai as the Philippine Bonsai Society Inc. (PBSI) proudly presents the grandest bonsai exhibition in Asia. ManilaBulletin
The event opened its doors on June 10 at the Music Hall of SM Mall of Asia, this extraordinary event promises a mesmerizing showcase of artistry and natural beauty.
Bonsai is a traditional Japanese art form that involves the cultivation and shaping of miniature trees in containers. What makes this year's exhibition particularly exceptional is the convergence of the Asia Pacific Bonsai and Suiseki Convention and the Asia-Pacific Bonsai Friendship Federation , a regional group affiliated with the World Bonsai Friendship Federation , the largest bonsai organization worldwide. Simultaneously, the exhibition commemorates the 50th anniversary of the Philippine Bonsai Society Inc.
Spanning across the SM Mall of Asia Entertainment Mall, Music Hall and Central Atrium, the exhibition will showcase three distinct forms of Japanese art: Bonsai, Ikebana, and Suiseki. Bonsai, revered as a miniaturized but lifelike representation of nature through meticulously shaped trees, will take center stage. Ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arrangement, will demonstrate the elegant harmony between flowers and their surroundings.
