A fire that left a woman dead in Philadelphia's Harrowgate neighborhood is being investigated as a possible arson. A male suspect was taken into custody following the fire.
Authorities in Philadelphia are investigating a fire that left a woman dead and several homes damages as a possible arson case. The fire broke out around 4:30 a.m. inside of a rowhome on the 1800 block of East Russell Street.Firefighters arrived on the scene to find flames coming from one of the homes on the block. That fire later spread to as many as four other homes on the block.
During their initial search of the homes, an adult woman was found dead on the second floor of the home that originally caught fire.MORE HEADLINES: Later Friday morning, police revealed that a male suspect had been taken into custody following the fire. The fire is being investigated as an arson, and the Philadelphia Police Department’s Homicide Division is handling the investigation. Two other people were also treated by medics for injuries that were not life-threatening.
