Arsenal Women are set to play in front of a sold out Emirates on Monday for their Champions League semi-final with Wolfsburg.
The team confirmed on Sunday morning, on social media, that for the first time ever they had sold out the stadium.Fans have snapped up more than 60,000 tickets for the clash on Monday with a place in June’s final up for grabs. The tie is finely poised at 2-2 after the first leg and the second leg at the Emirates is sure to be played with a stunning atmosphere.
Arsenal set a Women’s Super League attendance record back in September when 47,367 fans watched their win over Tottenham at the Emirates.It also means that Monday will be a record-breaking night with the attendance set to smash the previous figure for a Women’s Champions League game in the UK.This was broken by Chelsea last weekend when 27,697 watched their Champions League semi-final with Barcelona, but the Gunners are set to take back the record in stunning style.
