A new report has emerged that Arrowverse creator and producer Greg Berlanti is looking to cut down on his DC involvement in the future.
Arrowverse creator Greg Berlanti is reportedly looking to cut down on his DC involvement. One of the most successful franchises for The CW over the last decade has been the Arrowverse. Launched by Berlanti in 2012 through Arrow, the franchise became its own interconnected universe based on iconic DC heroes and villains. Thanks to the prolific Hollywood producer, the Arrowverse brought many spinoffs to life while fleshing out the franchise.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Berlanti Productions founder is reportedly "not expected to be heavily involved" with DC properties. Following his new mega-deal with Warner Bros. Discovery, the Arrowverse's Berlanti will be focusing on other genres and types of programming content for the studio.
On HBO Max, Berlanti has two shows that are about to come to an end in 2023. Earlier this month, HBO Max confirmed that both Titans and Doom Patrol will not return for season 5. Part 2 of their season 4s will air sometime later in 2023; the streaming service has yet to set premiere dates for either. Berlanti has a new DC drama premiering later in 2023 with Dead Boy Detectives, based on the DC/Vertigo property.
What Is Happening To The Arrowverse On The CW With Berlanti's new deal and the state of The CW, the question of what is happening to the Arrowverse remains. Given the new owners behind The CW, Nexstar, the network is looking to go in a new direction with its programming by targeting a new demographic. The number of scripted shows on The CW is reportedly looking to go down to only three, which includes the already-renewed All American.
