Las Vegas Metropolitan Police said Alexis Flores was arrested on three counts of willful or malicious abuse of an animal.
The Vegas Pet Rescue helped a small dog that was thrown into a dumpster on Monday and named him Atreyu. Organizers say the dog was taken to a vet and is doing fine. in a Las Vegas neighborhood admitted to police that he was angry with the dog and "wanted to teach him a lesson," according to an arrest report .

Detectives identified the vehicle in the video as a gray Jeep and canvassed the neighborhood for more witnesses and video, the report states. They found a matching Jeep parked in a driveway and determined it was registered to Flores' brother. They also received an anonymous tip that reported the man in the video looked like their neighbor, leading detectives to identify Flores as a suspect. The detectives met with Flores, who said he was letting two of his dogs out of the house that morning, the report states. He lets them out one at a time because they tend to fight, and the first dog let outside, Marley, ran away. Flores told police he chased after Marley for about 45 minutes, and after he came back, Marley "nibbed" Flores' daughter when she got rough with him. "Alexis stated 'Marley' is so annoying and frustrating, that he decided to teach him a lesson," the report states. Flores said he drove Marley in his brother's car to a trash bin and dumped the dog inside. He said he was stressed from that morning and did not want to kill Marley, but admitted the dog could have died. When Flores went back the day after to retrieve Marley, he was already gone, according to the report. An animal rescue group took Marley and said the dog is in good condition.
