Rob Lind, a building network specialist at Richards High School in Oak Lawn, gets a pie to the face as he helped raise $600 for the Ronald McDonald House in Oak Lawn through a Pi Day fundraiser at the school. Some brave souls from Richards High School in Oak Lawn faced down their fears recently to take one for a great team, according to a news release from School District 218.
Sponsored by math teacher Steve Haddad, the club operates as a service organization and is an affiliate of the Rotary Club of Oak Lawn.A piece choreographed by Southland College Prep students was one of 14 dances statewide chosen to be performed at the Illinois High School Dance Festival. The winning name was selected for its creativity and relevance, according to a news release from the village.
The Franciscan Health Family Birth Center Olympia Fields will use the donation to purchase diapers for the diaper pantry for new mothers who need an adequate supply after leaving the hospital. More information about the diaper pantry is at www.franciscanhealthfoundation.org or 708-852-2430.The Oak Lawn Spartan Journalism team won its fourth consecutive IHSA Sectional title on April 6.
Other Oak Lawn journalism qualifiers were Yumn Elameer , Omar Tellez , Omar Ali , Adan Dominguez , Rizan Ali , and the trio of Gabriel Gaidelis, Victoria Hartin, and Oluwasemilogo Oyekunie .
