-- A suspect was shot during a struggle with officers on Friday in the Morgan Park neighborhood over what police said was a gun the person had.
Officers tried to stop the suspect, who they observed with a gun, on the sidewalk in the 1100 block of West 111th Street around 5:30 p.m. The person fled into a residence, and officers pursued them on foot. Chicago Police Supt. Fred Waller said there was a struggle for the person's weapon between them and the officers.
Two shots were fired, and the suspect sustained a gunshot wound. They were taken to Christ Hospital in critical condition.Police recovered the suspect's gun. They're still investigating whether they fired the weapon.More from CBS News
