They responded to Payson Market at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Saturday after a report of a shoplifter.They said two officers approached the suspect, who was holding a knife and refusing to follow commands.Officials said the suspect then charged at the two officers with the knife, and one of the officers fired at him.The suspect's condition was not initially known, but police said he was conscious and talking while he was being transported.
